Folk Music Ontario

Formed in 1986, and formerly known as OCFF, Folk Music Ontario is the largest folk and roots music organization in Canada and serves its members as a recognized arts service organization.

The 32nd Annual Folk Music Ontario conference (FMO) takes place Sept 27-30, 2018 in Mississauga, ON and is a key conference for Canada’s folk, roots, and traditional music community. FMO brings more than 700 delegates together to listen, celebrate and learn from each other. Delegates learn about new products and services for performers and presenters; interact with panelists during educational seminars and workshops; engage in lively round table discussions and private meetings with industry professionals; along with celebrating recipients of songwriting and lifetime achievement awards.

FMO hands out several awards at the conference, including the Setting the Stage Award, which this year is sponsored by  Music Canada Live, and will be presented to Music Canada Live member NAC Presents at the Awards Brunch on Sunday, September 30.

FMO Official showcasing artists are from across Canada – ON, QC, NB, YT, SK, AB, NS, PE, BC, and MB – click HERE to view the official showcase performance schedule.

Registration is open now for #FMO2018, and kicking off the annual conference, FMO is delighted to present an exciting downtown Toronto ‘fun-raising’ event at Hugh’s Room Live, the FMO Celebration Concert, on Tuesday, September 25. Soul rocker Julian Taylor is headlining the night, with more exciting guests to be announced in the coming weeks.
