Job Description: Under the direction of the General Manager, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and administration of the Canada Scene Volunteer Program and is the primary liaison for all festival volunteers. The incumbent will determine the volunteer staffing needs required to meet the goals of the festival, and will develop and execute a recruitment strategy for volunteers. He / she will interview potential volunteers and review police record checks as required, and will run all volunteer information and training events. In consultation with members of the Canada Scene team, the incumbent will create a volunteer schedule for each day of the festival to ensure operational needs are met and will develop required materials, including the volunteer handbook. The Volunteer Coordinator will also work closely with festival dispatch during the festival on all transportation requirements. This position will require work on evenings and weekends immediately preceding and during the festival.
